Vaillant ecoTEC pro 24 cambi - no heating in normal but heating in timer
I have a prob with my vaillant ecoTEC pro 24 combi. There is no heating when I put in normal heating demand (heating "ON" position) but surprisingly there is heating when I put in timer. I would be grateful if any one can help me on this. Domestic hot water is ok.

Your boiler needs to recognise a demand therefore when a hot tap is opened it automatically fires up. When the boiler is new it has an 'internal link' so it works for heating before a control is fitted, this link is removed when a stat/timer is fitted and it is now this control that supplies the demand, so the heating should now only comes on when the timer and/or stat is telling the boiler to fire up. From what I can gather from your description then the boiler is working correctly

Thank you Corgigasman for your reply. I was also suggested that there may be problem of timeswitch it self. Do you think it is posibly the faulty timeswitch? I thought if timeswitch is faulty, then it should not be working when it is in timer but it works. I believed when I put in heating constantly "ON", timer should be overidden. Further suggestion would be helpful.

Do you have a built in timer or is it an external timeswith
