CO2 - Currently using a Potterton Flamingo RS40 mk 2 boiler. Have header tank in loft and airing cupboard with immersion tank etc and have no plans to change design. Gas is only used in the house to fire up the boiler and for no other purpose. There's been no problem with the Potterton for around 30 years - but it must be on its last legs! Looking for a like for like but more energy efficient replacement.
The RS40 boiler is wall mounted to an outside wall in entrance lobby and vented.

I've had an expensive-looking quote from British Gas, which involved a fairly straightforward swap. I would obviously need a Powerflush beforehand, and would like a magnetic filter fitted after installation. My British Gas quote also included installation of a new stainless steel hot water tank and a replacement timer/controller. CO7 - Replace existing boiler (Halstead Eden 30 kw) under worktop with probably a Worcester Greenstar 42 CDi (floor standing). Flue exits through wall at rear, timber construction with cement rendering.
