Why Consider a Hitachi Air Source Heat Pump?

4 x More Efficient Than a Boiler

Hitachi Yutaki air source heat pumps use 1kW of electricity to extract renewable energy from the air and produce a highly efficient output of 4kW heat. This heats refrigerant in the system which can then heat your home water. So an air source heat pump from Mitsubishi actually generates 4 times as much energy as it uses; when you compare that to a traditional boiler which turns a maximum 92% of the fuel it uses into energy with the rest being lost to waste gases. Hitachi claim that their heat pumps can reduce energy bills by as much as 60%.

Lower Carbon Emissions

Most of the energy an air source heat pump uses to run comes from the natural air around your home. The small amount of electricity needed to power the heat pump produces only a fraction of the CO₂ emissions produced by a traditional oil or gas boiler. Hitachi claim that some homes could reduce carbon emissions by as much as 70%.

Convenient & Intuitive Controls

Keep control of your heating with a wireless remote thermostat and app including weekly timer, holiday mode, smart function and a favourite button.

Earn Money Through the RHI Scheme

A Hitachi Yutaki heat pump is MCS accredited which means the energy it generates could earn you money through the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme.

The RHI scheme pays owners of eligible renewable heating systems for each unit of energy the heat pump generates for 7 years after it has been commissioned. The exact payments you’ll receive will vary depending on the current tariff, the technology installed and how much energy you generate.

How Much Does a Hitachi Air Source Heat Pump Cost?

To buy and install an air source heat pump you’re likely to be looking at costs between £6,000 – £12,000. However, it’s important to remember that once the upfront cost is taken care of you can look forward to many years of energy savings and potential earnings through the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme which will go a long way towards repaying your investment.

The price you’ll pay will depend on the make and model of the heat pump you choose and which company to carries out the installation, as well as the complexity of the work involved.
