LG Air Source Heat Pumps

LG’s range of air source heat pumps is called THERMA V. They demonstrate the very latest in efficiency and advanced technology including remote control via the ThinQ app. This enables weekly scheduling, control of water temperature, heating emergency operation and a silent operation mode.

There are 4 models in the Therma V range: THERMA V Split Heat Pump, THERMA V Split High-Temperature Heat Pump, THERMA V Monobloc and the THERMA V Monobloc R32.

THERMA V Monobloc Air Source Heat Pump

The THERMA V Monobloc is one of LG’s most popular heat pumps and amongst the most energy efficient on the market. It is a compact “all-in-one” unit which delivers a low to medium temperature hot water supply and is available in outputs from 3kW-16 kW to suita range of homes.

The Monobloc unit is connected by water piping and so doesn’t need refrigerant piping and features several energy saving components such as the inverter water pump which prevents energy wastage the wide louvre fin and heat exchanger path which conserves energy, provides an increased exchange rate. LG’s pressure control sensor enables the unit to make faster and more accurate decisions about the most efficient way to operate.

THERMA V Split Air Source Heat Pump

The THERMA V Split heat pump is recommended for both new build homes as well as renovation and modernisation projects. While the Monobloc is an “all-in-one” solution, the THERMA V Split heat pump is split into an outdoor unit and a separate indoor unit; this unit manages your air source heating or cooling by zones, i.e. different temperatures in different rooms of the house.

THERMA V Split Air Source Heat Pump High Temperature

The THERMA V Split is also available as a High Temperature model which is recommended for older and lesser insulated properties as well as refurbishment projects. This model is capable of reaching a hot water temperature of 80°C in dual refrigerant systems and up to 65°C for a single refrigerant system. The system includes 2 units: the external unit can be installed up to 10m from the property so you have a good deal of flexibility when choosing where to put it.

THERMA V Monobloc Air Source Heat Pump R32

The latest addition to LG’s THERMA range is the Monobloc R32 which uses a more environmentally friendly refrigerant. R32 has a Global Warming Potential of 675 which is 70% lower than that of R410A which is used in many other air source heat pumps.

This model is highly efficient with an ErP rating of A+++ and features several extra features such as the Revolutionary Scroll Compressor with ‘wet vapour’ injection, heat exchangers coated in LG’s Ocean Black Fin epoxy resin to prevent corrosion and a 5 to 6dB lower sound power level than previous models.

The THERMA Monobloc R32 can incorporate standard boilers and / or solar panels in the heating and cooling system design and delivers excellent 100% performance at low temperatures of -7°C.
