  • Worcester 24i rsf not firing up

    Hi ,

I have a worcester 24i which is 7 years old and not firing up with the CH or hot water tap running. All I get is the pump running, no fan or ignition. I had a problem with the PCB last year so that is virtually new so unlikely to be the problem this time. I have tried tapping the gas valve with a hammer as I have read this can be a common fault?

Any ideas what is likely to be faulty?

    Thanks,
    Phil.

    Hi,

You should check the that you have 240v across live and neutral at the fan with a multi meter it will be this that is faulty. I dont suggest tapping the gas valve with a hammer ha ha, in the igintion sequence of the boiler the fan must be running long before the gas valve opens or beings to operate.

I have found that one of the componants on the fan has actually burst open and obviously knackered thefan!

It is the fan OR the air pressure switch, test the ohms on the fan with the wires off, should be 1ohm, any less its knackered
