Plans to build a new boiler-making factory in Birmingham could see hundreds of jobs created in the local county.

The German firm Worcester Bosch is working together with Worcestershire County Council to bring about a £17.85 million development named the Worcester Technology Park.

Their ambition is to build a new Bosch Thermotechnology plant – which will become the new base for the firm in the region. The proposal is said to be part of a reported £46 million worth of schemes bidding for Regional Growth Fund cash.

If successful, the new factory would secure more than 1,000 jobs at the firm and create hundreds more.

Worcester Bosch plans to make hi tech, ultra-green energy-saving boilers in its new base on the 35-hectare development.
