What is a boiler warranty?
When you purchase a brand new boiler, you want to know that if something goes wrong (touch wood) then you're going to be looked after by the manufacturer. That's where boiler warranties come in.
Within a warranty period, the manufacturer will send out an engineer to fix the fault and make sure that you're left with a working boiler. As a general rule of thumb, the longer the boiler warranty, the more faith the manufacturer has in their product and you'll find that this usually lasts between 1-10 years.
Like with most things in life, boiler warranties aren't always as simple as they first sound. Different manufacturers include a variety of caveats in their warranty terms with some warranties only covering certain parts of the boiler, while others may not cover labour costs.

Standard ATAG warranty
ATAG have such great faith in every single one of their boilers that they all come with 10 year warranty as standard, something that's unique in the UK.
Extended ATAG warranties
All ATAG boiler warranties can be extended to 11, 12 or 14 years when certain conditions are met.
- 11 year warranty: An Adey Atom filter must be fitted as part of the installation.
- 12 year warranty: Available with a purchase of a water treatment pack including an Adey Atom filter.
- 14 year warranty: Installation must include a ONEZone smart controller, Adey Atom filter and water treatment pack.

What's covered by the warranty?
ATAG boiler warranties covers all parts and labour which means that any and all technical issues with the boiler will be repaired and you won't have to pay for the engineer to come out to your home either.
With a 24/7 helpline, ATAG are at hand night and day but if their helpline technicians can't get you up running again over the phone then an engineer will be sent out to fix the boiler as soon as possible.
Terms and conditions
It's always important to check the small print of your warranty when dealing with any manufacturer because it may not cover as much as you might first think.
With ATAG, while every boiler comes with a 10 year warranty, you'll need to have your ATAG boiler serviced annually by a Gas Safe Registered engineer to keep it valid. If you don't, then that means any call-out charges and repair costs will be coming out of your pocket.
You may need to prove that your warranty is still valid so every time the boiler is serviced, make sure to get hold of a proof of service, that way you can prove your warranty is valid.
How to register your warranty
You'll need to activate the 10 year warranty on ATAG's website within 30 days of purchasing your new boiler.
They'll need a few personal details such as name, address and phone number and then some details about the boiler itself so don't throw away any paperwork to make sure you have everything you need to get covered by the warranty.
