What is a boiler warranty?

Boiler warranties are a very important part of purchasing a new boiler. They provide you with the peace of mind that if something should go wrong after your brand new boiler has been installed, the manufacturer will look after you.

Warranty periods tend to range from 1-10 years and if you come across a boiler that has a standard warranty at the higher end of that scale it shows just how much a manufacturer believes in their boiler.

The length of a warranty is just the beginning though, terms and conditions can mean that you're not getting what you thought you might. We know that you don't want to be spending time going through the small print of Baxi's warranty terms, which is why we've put together this guide.

Standard Baxi Warranty

Baxi boilers come with a 2 year warranty but there are some offers available which can take the warranty up to 10 years – Baxi 800, Baxi Platinum and Baxi Platinum+ ranges.

How to extend the warranty

If you're out of warranty, you can get peace of mind with Baxi's Protection Plans for a monthly fee, which includes annual servicing and boiler or full central heating protection.

What's covered by the warranty?

The warranty only applies to the boiler and integrated controls, and not any connected systems or accessories such as time switches and thermostats.

Terms and conditions

The installation of your new Baxi boiler must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer who should fill in the Benchmark commissioning checklist – hold onto this as you might need it. During the warranty period, your Baxi boiler has to be serviced every year.

If the boiler breaks down, Baxi may ask you for a deposit before their visit. If the fault is covered by the warranty, you'll get this deposit back, if it isn't or they can't access your property at the set time they may hold on to it.

How to register your warranty

The warranty must be registered with Baxi within 30 days of the boiler being installed online via their website.l
