What is a boiler warranty?
A boiler isn't something you're going to use once and forget about, you want it to be running every day until well after it gets installed. That's why boiler warranties are so important.
Within a warranty period, the manufacturer will send an engineer out to your home to repair to resolve any issues and get your boiler up and running again. These warranty periods, tend to range from 1-10 years and if you see a boiler with warranty on the higher end of that scale it shows just how much a manufacturer believes in their boiler.
The length of the warranty is just the beginning though, there can be all sorts of terms and conditions hidden away. You don't want to be spending time going through the small print of every manufacturer's warranty terms, so we've done the hard work for you and put together this guide.

Standard Ideal warranty
Depending on the boiler you get through Ideal, you can get a longer warranty ranging from 2-7 years. If you fail to register your boiler within 30 days of installation, you'll be limited to 12 months of warranty.
Once your warranty has expired, Ideal offer 'Out of Warranty Protection' to keep your peace of mind beyond the initial warranty. 12 month's of protection will cost £1,500 and covers approved repairs, including parts, labour and call-out charges.
The Ideal Max range of boilers come with an “out the box” warranty of 10 years but are available with an additional 2 years of warranty when installed by a Max Accredited Installer.
How to extend the warranty
Ideal offer a range of options to extend the warranty on your boiler, you'll need to give them a call to find out what the options are on your specific boiler.
What's covered by the warranty?
Ideal's warranty offers customers a full parts and labour repair service free of charge where the boiler suffers a mechanical or electrical breakdown as a result of defective workmanship or materials.
Terms and conditions
While the length of a warranty is clear to see, it's always worth a look at the small print to see if you as the owner need to comply with any terms and conditions. Your Ideal boiler will need to be serviced by a Gas Safe registered engineer at the end of each 12 month period.
To maintain the additional 2 year warranty of the Vogue Max, the servicing must be carried out by a Max Accredited Engineer, should this not be adhered to the warranty will revert to the standard 10 years.
How to register your warranty
The installer will be able to register your warranty at the time of installation but if not you can register online via the Ideal website within 30 days of installation.
