What is a Boiler Warranty?

Having a new boiler installed is a big commitment and deciding which manufacturer to go with shouldn't be rushed. As you want your boiler to be providing hot water and heating to your home long after it's been installed, it's comforting to know that the manufacturer will take care of any issues should they arise. Boiler warranties are important for this very reason.

A standard warranty period will last between 1-10 years, depending on the manufacturer and model. As a general rule of thumb, the longer the warranty the more belief the manufacturer has in their product.

The length of a boiler warranty shouldn't sway you though, it's important to always check what you'll be covered for during that time. Some warranties may only cover labour costs or certain parts of the boiler.

Who are Firebird?

Standard Firebird Warranty

As standard, Firebird oil-fired boilers are covered by a 2-year manufacturers warranty. Extended warranties of up to 10 years are available on a handful of ranges.

What's Covered by the Warranty?

During the warranty period Firebird will repair or replace a boiler free of charge where it suffers a mechanical or electrical breakdown due to defective workmanship or materials.

Terms and Conditions

The boiler must be installed by a registered OFTEC installer and they must complete the 'Boiler Passport', leaving a copy with the boiler. During the warranty period, your Firebird boiler will need to be serviced by an OFTEC registered engineer, otherwise the warranty will come to an end.

How to Register Your Warranty

Your boiler warranty will need to be registered with Firebird within 30 days of installation via their website.
