Designed and manufactured by the Electric Heating Company, the SlimJim electric flow boiler 10 kW is a floor-standing unit best suited to small homes and flats.
Why choose an electric boiler?
By burning fossil fuels, such as natural gas and oil, to heat our homes, home heating has become one of the biggest reasons for rising levels of carbon in the atmosphere. Going on in this way simply isn’t sustainable. Electricity is a possible alternative as it offers a number of benefits, including: no carbon emissions, zero risk of a carbon monoxide leak, quick response to turning the central heating on, flexible installation, no need for a flue or condensate pipe and fewer moving parts which reduces the chance of a fault.
How efficient is the SlimJim Flow 14.4 kW electric boiler?
SlimJim electric boilers have a high efficiency rating of 100% (gas and oil boilers can reach maximum efficiency of around 94%). However, electric boilers only have an ErP D-rating, which comes as a result of electricity production being considered carbon intensive as in most cases it involves the burning of fossil fuels.
Is a SlimJim Electric Flow boiler right for my home?
With an output rating of 14.4kW, this electric boiler is best suited to smaller homes with one bathroom and around 10 radiators.
Does the SlimJim range offer any alternative options?
The Electric Heating Company offer a number of outputs in this range, including: 4 kW, 7 kW, 10 kW and 12 kW. The 4 kW and 7 kW boilers are suitable for the smaller homes with 3-4 radiators and a 12 kW model that suits homes with 8 radiators.
What are the key features of the SlimJim electric boiler range?
SlimJim Flow electric boilers offer many benefits, including near silent operation, space-saving minimalistic design, choice between volt free or 230v control connections, 6-stage heating, connectors and sensors that are easy to fit, built-in fault finding diagnostics, S-plan configuration suitability (can select heating or hot water only or both at the same time), a unique run dry water level sensor that protects the heat exchanger from running dry in the event of system water loss, a stainless steel heat exchanger that’s fully insulated to minimise energy heat loss, a boiler temperature range of between 30-80 degrees and a unique high current safety cut-out device to protect the boiler from overheating.
How long is the warranty period?
SlimJim boilers have a 2 year warranty period as standard, which can be extended to 3 years, so you’ll be getting the peace of mind that you’re well covered by the Electric Heating Company.
